Phew!

OFF THE HOOK AGAIN! "There will be no jury selection in process for Tuesday Dec. 8th, therefore no jurors need to report." YEA! That was the message waiting for me when we got home tonight!!!

My appointment went really well! I am quite the talker- I find it pretty therapeutic to talk about my OCD habits of washing my hands and cleaning the counters a hundred times a day :)

The roads were fine- we were expecting to be driving through some really horrible stuff- but they were clear- except for a little rain. Unfortunately though on the way home there was a horrible accident- one of the worst ones I've ever seen. It was one of those things where you didn't want to look but you had to.. you know? Anyways it had JUST happened- there was only 1 ambulance there and 1 fire truck- one car on the West bound high way lost control and went over into the oncoming traffic of the East bound high way. It involved about 6 cars that we could count. And the car that I think got it the worst was the car that lost control- it was in the middle of the median and the entire side of it was ripped off. There were about 5 fire fighters trying to get someone out... how sad- I can't help but to always think about my family and friends that may be driving when I see accidents. We said a quick prayer for the families and sat in silence the rest of the way home... let me tell you- accidents- especially horrific ones like that DON'T help my anxiety. On the way back we saw probably 6 or 7 ambulances speeding towards the wreck. I have no clue how many people were hurt, but by the number of cars spread out all over the highway I'd guess a lot.

Suddenly my jury duty issues seem pretty petty huh? Yeah they are... hmmm... well if you're thinking of it, send up a quick prayer for the many families that I'm sure are going to be effected by that horrible accident.

I am going to try and get some sleep- Maeve is sick again- breathing horribly which frightens me... so we slather on the vicks and usually have her sleep with me. For some reason I feel like she's more comfortable next to her momma. I remember when I was sick as a kid always wanting my mom to sleep with me... okay now I'm rambling.. that means I'm super tired.

P.S. Ang- I will be having some SWEEEEEEET dreams because I tivod "Happy Gilmore" SCORE FOR ME!! HAHAHAHAHAHA Ryan can't stop me from watching this one!!! :)

Good News.

No Jury duty tomorrow morning! HOOOOOOORAY! Unfortunately, I still have 4 more days left... cross your fingers for me! By the way- I just read the "rules" on being picked as a juror and apparently it is only supposed to be once a year- this is my 2nd time. SO isn't that a violation on their part??? I think so. But the last thing I need is to get in trouble with the courts for not showing up...

On another note- our court house is right next to the YMCA and I am hoping if I do get called down I might be able to hop on over during our "lunch break" and get an exercise in without having to pay for "child watch" for Maeve. That would be exciting!

I am currently taking 3 classes a week there: 2 body pump classes and 1 butts and guts class. I am hoping to healthily lose about 15 lbs. by spring break! Perhaps if I can tone up my tummy enough I might even wear a bikini again... ohhhhhh how I miss those days! I just found this pic of me laying on the beach and got really sad that I may never be able to wear a bikini again... but perhaps with lots of cardio, dieting and that guts class I will???? :) We'll see! But goodness gracious- the havoc that pregnancy reeks on your body is crazy! And my luck, I will tone up and lose all this weight and I will probably be preggo again!

Oh well... these are my child bearing years- I guess I am meant to look like a train wreck! :)

I'm Sick.

I got my flu shot and I am about the biggest germaphope you'll meet- but somehow I've picked up some nasty virus. Last night my throat hurt so badly that I stayed up until 2 sucking on throat lozenges. I took 2 Tylenol PM so I was knocked out until 8:30 this morning... good thing its a weekend because Ryan has taken over my usual mommy duties. And Maeve, I noticed has a runny nose. I just KNOW she is going to catch this- or she's already caught it. This morning I woke up in a sweat- I have been sweating out a fever- so I guess Ryan must've felt really bad for me... because he made me breakfast in bed!!! YEA! The cream of wheat and coffee feels amazing on my throat.

Anyways, I have ONE day (today) to get better because guess what???? I have jury duty AGAIN tomorrow morning... bright and early. Can you believe it? Something must be majorly screwed up in their system because I was JUST called in September... and here I go again. Its not right :( UGH anyways I am planning on spending the bulk of today in bed popping tylenol and cough drops.

Just For The Record....

I totally got out of jury duty today. Thanks to a certain little girl... This is what I did: I showed up at 10:00 (when I was scheduled to come in) with my stupid jurer summons in hand and my beauty in my other arm. I was lined up with all these people (nobody had kids with them!) When it was my turn to scan my paper, the lady said "Wooooaaahhhh!" You can't come in here with a baby! And I said "Well I don't do daycare, she's sick so I can't bring her to a friends house and my husband works. So my only option was to bring her." The lady said I could be excused from this week (HECK YESSSSSSSS) BUT I have to come back and make up my week some other time. I was like "Yeah whatever..."

I am SO over being summoned for jury duty!!! It seems like I go through this thing once a year... while my HUSBAND never, ever gets summoned. Hmm...

Well I am happy and excited about the rest of the week (now that I know I won't be sitting in a courtroom). We're going to P.F. Changs for my birthday tomorrow and I have a massage scheduled for Friday!!! :) Oh and a mani/pedi tomorrow... it will be a good day :)

As for my pumpkin, she is sick- soooo that kind of throws everything off. She's got a bad runny nose, a cough and she is cranky as heck. We've gone 2 weeks now where she is waking up about every 3 hours SCREAMING. I took her to the doc. last week and they said she was teething. Here we are a week later, NO signs of teeth. If this doesn't clear up by Friday, I'm taking her back in... On a happier note, she is a walking machine- hardly even falls anymore. Its crazy to have a walker... and makes me long for another newborn :) But we're still waiting a bit on that.

Believe it or not this is my FOURTH time having jury duty.... to put this into perspective for you my husband has had jury duty ONCE. My dad, who just turned 50 has had jury duty twice. I was even summoned one time to the courts in Detroit!!! Like NOBODY gets summoned up there! I'm a bit annoyed... especially since its my birthday on Wed.
