Popsicles.

Tonight we went to our local Popsicle cafe.  I've said it before and I'll say it again, I think its crazy that we have a local Popsicle cafe.  I mean crazy AWESOME, but crazy.  (Popsicle cafe??)  We enticed the kids to finish their spaghetti with promises of those icy treats.  And it worked ;)  We headed down to The Hyppo Cafe (check out their site; way too cute- and if you want to try these awesome treats, they can be shipped to YOU!  Yes- even way up to Michigan!) and our car was abuzz with flavor discussion.  Ultimately we all got the same ol', same ol' (except Maeve).
Ryan and I tried the Elvis (banana, honey, peanut butter and coconut)

Maeve had coconut (she didn't like it.  I totally called it too.  Sista needs to stick with the strawberry)

Henry had peach.

Stella had watermelon (which I half ate...and was seriously good).

Post popsicles (my goal in this post is to use as many p words as possible) Ryan declared it was to be a beach night.  As is often the case, we had no towels, suits, or other beach gear, but no matter.  We're locals now.  We make do.  ;)

The kids were sticky messes and the sugar from the pops was making its presence known.  Thank God for the open space the beautiful beaches provide.

The kids each have their own priorities at the beach.  Maeve likes to dance.  Literally, she does ballet up and down the beach, leaping over sand castles and walking the shore on her tippy toes.

Henry is such a typical boy.  He loves to run.  Every once in awhile he'll take a break, sit down and watch the boats.  Or planes.  Either one will do.  He's going to be a pilot, I'm pretty sure.

Stella's goal is simple:  EAT SAND AND GET TO WATER ASAP.

Ryan and I, we like to soak it in.  Cliche with a capitol "C"?  Yes.  But we know especially in these quiet, beautifully serene moments at the beach that this is just a stepping stone in our life.  And so we sit, and watch.  I grab the camera (probably too frequently) and we both laugh as our littles run circles around us.

Every so often, Ryan and I will catch each other's eyes.  It's unspoken but we know these are the days of our lives.

You all look great. What a fun family night. I love that you can pick up and go to the OCEAN any time you want!

I checked out the popsicle shop. Those flavors sound divine. Unfortunately shipping to Michigan is $50.00! I think Kevin might be a *little* put out if I spend a hundo on 12 frozen Hyppos :). I guess I'll have to come get one in person someday.
