Playing. With. Photoshop. Is. ADDICTING.

Have I talked about me newwwwwwwww Canon Rebel xti I'm getting???? I am BEYOND excited. I can't wait... I mean I don't think I've been so excited about something since Henry was born???!!! I just started getting into photography when I had Maeve. I had a horrible (I mean- HORRIBLE) Kodak camera of some sort that I took most of Maeve's early day pics with. Once I realized that these precious moments were slipping away I convinced Ryan to upgrade to a Canon powershot. YES I do love my canon powershot- its a great point and shoot camera. But I need MORE CAMERA! After a TON of research, reading and talking with some of my (very) talented photography friends, I've decided to get the Canon rebel xti... and I couldn't- really CANNOT be more excited. We get it Tuesday. And really, ever since its been confirmed we're buying it, I haven't stopped talking Ryan's ear off about it. I have now convinced him that I need a better zoom lens to go WITH my camera as well as a good photo editing program. Sooooo I've been test driving a few... right now I am using a 30 day trial of photoshop elements 8 & lightroom. Both are ADDICTING. I mean, really, I need a photoshop/lightroom intervention or something. As SOON as the kids get to bed at night, I'm on the computer messing around for hours. My favorite thing to do is use the lasso tool and "POP" the eyes. Someone.stop.me.

Because I am so obsessed with the "eye pop" feature, I decided to bring my camera in the car, knowing I'd get some great lighting of Maeve's eyes. I took about 50 pictures while waiting for Ryan in the parking lot of Subway. And as SOON as I got home, I zoomed, feathered, sharpened and POPPED those eyes :)

I am just starting to dabble in this whole photography thing... and I am getting more and more interested by the day...

Ashley - I have also been looking at the Canon xTi. Did you find a good deal somewhere?

YES! I did- Craigslist- I found a photography student up in Sterling Heights who bought it for a class- used it for 4 months, decided photography wasn't for him and is selling it to me for 400. ALONG with a lens, 3 memory cards, tripod and case. He had also bought a warranty on it so if for some reason its not in pristine condition, we have the warranty. Although, he's guaranteed us the camera is perfect- less than 500 clicks I think he said. SO... yes, I think it's a good deal :) Check out craigslist!
