What's Thrifty, Nifty and White?

Brace yourselves, this is exciting news.

I made my own dish detergent last night. Oh, yes I did.

This morning, I was chatting on the phone with a galpal, raving about this all natural, CHEAP, homemade dish detergent- I actually said, "Leslie, I kid you not- my dishes have never been cleaner."

Wow. I am officially a housewife/mom/huge dork.

Whatever, my dishes are sparkling and with this suuuuper easy peasey recipe, yours can be too! :)

First, find a pretty bottle. (I found mind at St. Vinnys). And yeah, its pretty, but note the opening- its small. I had to rig up a funneling device to get my powder in there. I used a Target ad, and it didn't work out so great... huge spills. So friends, get a big bottle.

After you have a bottle, get some borax, baking soda and kosher salt.

You can create as big or as small of a batch. It's up to you and your dish washing needs. I created a big batch.

1 cup Borax

1 cup baking soda

1/2 cup kosher salt

= some cheap, kick butt, dish washing detergent.

your needed items.

pretty bottle...small opening... go for a big ugly bottle.

my funnel.  & pringles... pringles have nothing to do with this project.

my finished batch.  The bottle on the right is my "pretty" display batch.  The bottle on the left is my more practical, every day use batch.

put some sunglasses on SON!  SPARKLE & SHINE! :)

there ya have it!

PS- I know this is getting more than redundant, BUT.... if you have not entered the "Nannah Bread Knots" giveaway... please, PLEASE do so NOW! :) CLICK HERE TO ENTER!!!!
