If so, get ready to make some money!
My uncle Dave told me that Disney's Baby Einstein company is recalling ALL DVD's purchased between 2004 and 2009. Apparently, the "experts" (whoever they are) are suggesting a link between autism and watching the dang videos! WHAT?!?! I'm not really sure what to think wtih all the autism links out there- vaccines, candy, now movies?? Who knows- and to be honest, I really wasn't too concerned hearing that because Maeve thought those videos were the dumbest things on the planet. They held her interest for maybe 20 seconds. BUT, with a new baby coming I guess I don't want to take the chance (even if its super minute- they ARE saying that the link is greater for boys...) AND the 15.99 PER DVD is also pretty appealing! Sunday night I gathered up all of the B.E. DVDs we own- count 'em up folks- TWENTY- EIGHT DVDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's over $450.00 in refunds!!!! Ryan and I were acting like we had struck gold! :) Then came the catch- only 4 DVD's can be returned PER household. Soooo... we kind of stretched it a bit, made a few phone calls to my parents, Ryan's parents and worked it all out. This morning I packaged up 7 different envelopes of DVD's... and filled out 28 refund forms. It was a bit of work but totally worth the moolah! :)
Soooo... if you have some BE DVD's that were purchased between 2004-2009, and your kiddos have either outgrown them, don't like them OR you're worried about the autism link, go to this site and check it out for yourself.
***Also just to clarify- I am NOT worried about the autism link at all- Maeve never showed any interest in them and honestly I was figuring out a way to get rid of them before baby #2 comes- in part because I personally, think they're the dumbest videos EVER but also because really, who needs 28 B.E. videos??? This recall/upgrade thing came around at just the right time for us :)

Well now I know what is wrong with Max..haha..he loves those movies!! I can't believe it, it would be my stupid luck!! He did learn how to sign from one of them, his favorite movie ever. Well I guess I'll be packing mine up and sending them back for some $$$ thanks for letting us all know!! I have quite a few I'm going to have to spread them out too!! Crazy!!
ohhh jessy nothing is wrong w/ Max- you're crazy! I'm sending them back b/c Maeve hated them & I thought they were so stupid!
I'm confused- If you Maeve dis-liked the videos so much, how did you end up with 28 of them? I didn't even know they had 28 B.E. videos! Too bad I only own 1- I could have used a refund on something I knew the effects of when I bought it. Everybody knows tv is not good for babies!
sadie- we got 4 as gifts and Ryan and I bought this GIANT B.E. collection before Maeve was born that has 24 in it. It was like 150 bucks!!!!!!!!! But we had heard such good things about them (how they make babies so smart!) so we got it. I contacted the BE company and asked them what to do about the set of DVD's we bought and they said we can submit 4 at a time out of the set. Hope that clears it up! :)
oh- and I totally have to admit that Maeve watches t.v.- just not baby einstein! But she loves dora and anything disney...
