I always seem to develop a pretty bad case of baby brain when I'm preggo, but this last incident just HAS to be recorded for memories sake.
About a month ago I noticed that my little Jeep stroller (its one of those light weight umbrella strollers) was missing. Not unusual since we'll often take my mom's car to go shopping and I'll throw the stroller in there. So I called my mom, asked her if it was in her car or garage. Nope. So then I figured Ryan must've cleaned my car out one night (he does this like once a week for me- how nice is that?) and taken the jeep stroller out to vacuum or something and just forgot to put it back. Unfortunately after talking to Ryan and searching the house there was still no sign of the stroller. We were totally stumped about HOW in the world you can lose a stroller. Luckily it was only 30 bucks (not my 200.00 stroller) and I just kind of forgot about it; UNTIL last week at Gymboree.
I ran in to spend the last of my Gymbucks- with Maeve in tow (she was riding in our jogger stroller). I was looking around while Maeve was parked in front of the tv. A worker came up to me and asked if this kitty stuffed animal was ours (it was) and then handed it over to Maeve. I said "Oh thanks! She leaves a trail behind her wherever we go!" Then the lady said "I know what that's like- and especially working here, we have a huge lost and found. You should see what people leave- like somebody left an entire stroller with bags hanging off of it. I don't know how you'd leave a stroller!" I think my face lit up like a christmas light- but by this time she had gone on and on so much about this crazy "lady" who left a stroller in the store that I couldn't say, "Um... I think that was me." So I played it off like "oh wow that's pretty crazy!"
As soon as I got in the car I called Ryan and told him "OH my gosh- I FOUND the stroller! It's at Gymboree!! But I'm way too embarrassed to get it!"
A few days later, I went back to Gymboree- PRAYING that the woman who initially told me about the stroller wasn't there. UGH- she was. SO I had to go up to her and say, "Um the other day I was in here and you mentioned there was a stroller in the lost & found- I think it might be mine..." She went to the back and out wheeled my stroller. Holy moly- how do you leave a stroller, complete with shopping bags wrapped around the handles in the middle of a store???? I couldn't even remember the day that it happened- I was trying to think of how I got Maeve out of the store, WITHOUT the stroller. Anyways, I still to this day have no clue how it happened- very perplexing... but we have the stroller back and a really funny story. :)
