8 Weeks Post Partum...

Tomorrow marks EIGHT weeks of Henry's life here on earth. WOW! I have yet to schedule his 2 month appointment... oops. I'm assuming we'll get in sometime this week- I'm anxious to find out why he is fussy 24/7.

On another note- I posted a post partum pic of when I was 2 weeks post partum. Sitting here, quite pudgy and soft, not much has changed. I'm bummed. I have been dieting and nursing for 2 months now- yes, yes I've lost over 40 lbs- but remember about 30 of that was PURE FLUIDS! So really, I've only lost 10 solid pounds. And to get to my goal weight of 120 I still have 15 lbs to go. :( poo. Here's a pic of me this morning. Ignore my triple Z's in the pic.

In one word, YUCK. But here's the thing- in order to maintain my milk supply my midwife told me not to cut calories... okaaaaaayyy- that makes it a little hard to diet! Working out is the next best logical step, but with a newborn who likes to nurse at random times all day long, its hard to get out and do it. Unfortunately we don't live in a climate where I can put the kids in the double stroller and take a walk. For me to exercise I have to pack the kids up, drive to the Y, check them into the jankity daycare and PRAY my name isn't paged to come claim a child down in the nursery. Nope- the Y isn't going to happen. So now I'm thinking of exercise videos. I've heard of some good ones, so I'm willing to try them. Even with THAT I am not sure where the time to do a video will come from- my kids hardly ever nap at the same time and when they do I can pretty much guarantee you the first thought in my mind won't be "GOTTA EXERCISE!" It will probably be more along the lines of "GOTTA LAY DOWN!" sighhhhhh.... I need these extra 15 lbs off bad... what to do, what to do? Talking with my midwife, she said give it a year to get back to normal- focus on nursing, maintaining my supply and life with two kids. So is it selfish for me to want to get these 15 pounds off??? I wish I didn't care so much about the stupid scale- but my GOSH I am sick of my jeans cutting off blood supply to my legs. And I REFUSE to go out and buy size 7 jeans (yes that's what size I am in at the moment). I feel like if I give in and buy the size 7's I will always be in that size. Make sense?
Well, if any of you have some fabulous ideas on how I can get these pesky 15 lbs off, let me know! I am ALL ears! :)

I am on day 3 of the 30 day Shred by Jillan Michaels. They are only 20 minute workouts, but let me tell you they are stinking HARD!!! I swear at the TV because I am in so much distress trying to keep up. Doing day 3 today I could barely keep up because my legs were so sore from the last few days. Kevin does it with me. He doesn't think it is as hard as I do, but he was dripping sweat right along with me today! I like it because it is a great workout and it really is only 20 minutes start to finish, warm-up through cool-down! I can definitely fit in 20 minutes and I am really gonna try to do it 30 days in a row, but even if you did it a couple times a week it would be good. Kevin wants the P90x so we are working on getting that but I think the workouts might be longer, however I heard it was great for the bod!

Miss you Momma, keep up the good work :)

I still have 9 pounds to go and it shows :( dannng. I go to the gym when Kase gets home but I don't do much cardio (milk supply issues if I burn too many calories) but I do lift weights. Light weights, lots of reps. I also do yoga twice a week and I love it. I also do lots of workout videos at home :) I have been recording these awesome workout videos that play early (like 6am) on Discovery Health. They are awesome!!!!! Oh and the 30 day shred video is awesome! Good luck girrrrrl!

JULES- YES I've seen those videos on disc. health (my fave channel ever) when I'm nursing early in the morn! :) I never thought to tivo them for later in the day!! And yes, I am producing tonnnnnns of milk but I can tell if I don't eat enough that my milk isn't as plentiful- and on top of that I feel just plain drained... so I DO need the calories I just want to lose these 15 lbs!!!!!!!

Oh my gosh ashley you look great! You've got to be kidding me...

My advise? Relax, you'll lose the weight eventually. Don't stress out about it, it will drive you insane. Henry is only 2 months old so don't set your expectations to high where you can't reach them.

I hate working out and have NO time to do it (and when #3 comes I really won't have time). However, have you heard of stroller strides? It's great and you can take the kids with you. You walk/run/work out while the kids sit in the stroller. If they have a program near you, it sounds like it would be a perfect fit! Check it out!

i agree that you look great!! however, i'm wanting to get off at least 25lbs.. 15 more of baby weight and then another 10 to be where i was a while before I got preggo.. i've heard awesome things about the 30day shred.. so i'm thinking that might be what i lean toward. also, my sister got me a wiifit for Christmas.. ray has been using it for now, but i think this week will be my week to start!! i can't wait until spring when i can go for my 3 mile walks i was doing while i was preggo with fat man! :) we should walk together! then we'll be held accountable! :D
