what to think...

I'm just not sure what to think or make of this comment... "Now that you're going to have one of each, you can stop!" (meaning I will have both a boy and a girl). Ever since we found out it was a boy I've heard this comment over and over and over again... what does it mean??? Ryan and I would love to be blessed with more kids, so every time someone says this I just laugh politely. But it got me thinking...

What is your idea of a "perfect family?" Meaning, how many kids would you like to have? I think 3 or 4 would suit us well.

No more than four for us and that probably won't even happen. Three for sure though! I suppose I need a girl :)I will be 29 when this babe comes and if I wait a year to get pregs again I will be 30! Blahh. Wish I started this when I was younger!

Oh I hear that comment ALL THE TIME! So annoying...

Anyways, we want 4ish. I can say that now because we've only got two...but we've always said 4. With how easily we've gotten pregnant in the past we could end up with 8 for all I know :).

We will have two children....if this next one is a girl, it will not change our minds. We feel that two kids suit us best. It's different for everyone though.

It ticks me off when people say, "oohh...i bet you really want a boy?" In my opinion, healthy is best..no matter what gender.

I know exactly what you mean, I got plenty of those comments, and still do!! People will ask me "You had a boy and a girl, why did you keep having kids". Four is great, but I would still love to have one more!! I think whenever I choose to be done either now or after one more, it's going to break my heart for that part of my life to be over!!

My good friend Emily (a girl and new boy) hears that alot. I'm thinking we'd like to have 4 kids (but hopefully not all girls!). They definately are a blessing!

We got that comment a lot after we had Billy. I can't imagine how boring our lives would be if we had stopped then just because we had a girl and a boy! When I was pregnant with Kait, I got a lot of "I bet you hope this one is a girl." (Since we had three boys before her.) And after I had her, "Now you can stop, since you had another girl."

We often laugh about how much we did not know what we were missing before each one came along. I can't imagine our lives without these five distinct personalities.

Seriously, it is no one's business how many kids you want, what genders you desire, etc. The perfect family is the family you are, at every stage. My family was as perfect when we had two kids as it is now with five. God knows whats best and He has plans for each of them, regardless of their gender.
